The lozenge cut diamond is another unique step cut, which makes for a great center stone for someone who wants something a little bit different. The traditional lozenge cut diamond will feature four sides of equal length, which come together to form a traditional “diamond” shape. The hexagonal lozenge cut diamond is similar, but instead of meeting at the top in a point, the top and bottom have two more straight sides, forming an elongated hexagon shape instead of meeting at sharp points to form the diamond shape.

Fun, elegant, and unique, the lozenge cut was first introduced to the world in the 1920s, but antique examples are very rare. With trends changing towards a direction of individual uniqueness, these stones are coming back into popularity.
