One of the more peculiar step cuts, the Cadillac cut, is one of the few to boast a longer width than length. Topped off with tapered edges in similar angles, it is most commonly seen as a uniquely shaped accent stone. Historically rare, the Cadillac cut is becoming more and more popular as an accent stone, and even as a center stone for a unique pendant or funky stud earrings.

Unsurprisingly, the name stems from the stone’s resemblance to the logo of the car company. However, it is doubtful that they receive royalties when these diamonds are cut or sold.
